Must-Have Home Organizational Tools

An organized home is a peaceful home and one that makes you feel more in control of your life.  These organizational tools are inexpensive, easy to execute and best of all—will save you time and energy.

  1. Drawer dividers are a must and will corral like items and keep things in place. Use them in the kitchen, bathroom and in any furniture storage cabinet that has drawers. For junk drawers, use small boxes, tins or other containers of different sizes that you already own to contain items like scissors, tape, sticky notes and paper clips.
  2. Under-cabinet roll-out shelving sounds intimidating, but simple roller glide brackets are easy for beginners to install. If you’re not up for using power tools, consider adding a free standing plastic drawer unit under the kitchen sink to give cleaning supplies a proper home.
  3. Tension rods can be placed under cabinets or any tight place that needs supplies off the ground. Just position the rod between the two opposing walls of the space and hang bottles of cleaning products or furniture polish.
  4. Use a wine rack for storing reusable water bottles and stainless drink tumblers. File folders turned on their side and stacked are also a great tool to store drink containers or an overflow of bottled or canned beverages in the corner of a closet.
  5. Pot and lid organizers will keep your cooking supplies from falling out of the cabinet every time you start cooking.
  6. Add a rolling cart to contain art supplies, stationary, paper and other creative supplies. Separate items on the cart into reusable glass jars, baskets or bins.

Get your cords under control with cord caddies, cord wraps and zip ties. There are so many inexpensive products that can solve every messy scenario. Save the cardboard insides of paper towel rolls to stash cords that you don’t use regularly.
