Hollywood At Home
Creative Genius: Peter Dunham
Locations: Los Angeles and New York City
For Peter Dunham, founder of Hollywood At Home in Los Angeles—and a new second location in New York City, Peter Dunham Home & Garden—it all started two decades ago with the launch of his textiles in just a few patterns. “As it grew, I realized I needed a place to display them how I intended,” he explains. “To contextualize the fabrics, I started to decorate the space as I would an interior, and brought in cool vintage pieces, art, and furniture. Then people wanted all of it. I invited my friends who also had textile lines to join me for a creative collective vibe. Now, we represent nine textile and wallpaper lines, and I continue to treat the shop like I do an interior—scouring flea markets, making new creations, and trying to keep things both exciting and livable.”
The trove, stocked with vintage lighting, textiles, bedding, poufs, bespoke accent pieces, artwork, and made-to-order furniture, is a designer haven. “I want to create an experience of inspiration, of memorable moments, and also of helpfulness,” says Dunham. “I want people to feel like it was worth it to get up from behind their computer and come in-person, so we are always changing things around, bringing in interesting vintage pieces, creating new pieces, collaborating with various artisans, trying new upholstery treatments, and more.”

“It stands for ‘How to Marry A Millionaire,’ like the movie with Lauren Bacall and Marilyn Monroe,” says Dunham. “I found the original [among] Hollywood memorabilia and adapted it to today’s comfort standards. It’s been a bestseller since day one and I’m always amazed at how it works in so many interior and exterior environments.”
“This is one of my very first textile designs. A pair of Fig Leaf cushions in a room will bring in a happy element. I love this design because it reminds me of summer holidays and warm weather.”
“I created this bedcover in collaboration with Indian handweavers. The embroidered design is based on a tile pattern I spotted on a trip to the Taj Mahal.”
Tropical Punch
Creative Geniuses: Zoe and Eric Kleinbub
Location: La Jolla
Tropical Punch is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Zoe and Eric Kleinbub, the duo behind the famed Michelin-recommended restaurant Paradisaea. True to its name, the boho-inspired shop—which was designed by lauded firm Georgis & Mirgorodsky—is decked with bubblegum pink walls, glossy grass-green display tables, a palm mural by artist Eloin Rivera, and an avant-garde Le Nopal chair designed by the firm. Shoppers can choose from a selection of worldly wares and objects spanning fine jewelry, ceramics, textiles, and artwork by purveyors and artists spanning Bklyn Clay, Fritz Glass, and Doug Britt, along with an in-house line, Punch, designed by the duo.
“Tropical Punch was born from my husband’s and my shared passion for travel and collecting unique, beautiful objects with a story to tell,” recounts Zoe. “After years of gathering treasures from around the globe, we envisioned a space where we could share these discoveries and inspire others to infuse their lives with global style and eclecticism. Our vision was to create a modern bohemian bazaar: a vibrant, playful, and unexpected shopping experience that transports you to another place. We wanted to break away from the typical retail experience and curate a space that felt more like a personal collection, reflecting our love for handcrafted artistry, bold design, and cultural influences.”
The duo is also committed to supporting artisans and makers with a do-good component. “Many of the pieces we carry are handcrafted and ethically sourced, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and fair trade practices,” says Zoe. “We also love showcasing emerging artists and designers alongside established brands, offering a truly diverse and eclectic selection. We hope Tropical Punch becomes a beloved destination for those seeking unique treasures and a truly inspiring shopping experience.”

Anyon Atelier
Creative Genius: Lindsay Anyon Brier
Locations: San Francisco and Dallas
Ten years ago, interior designer Lindsay Anyon Brier, founder and principal designer of Anyon Interior Design, opened doors to her minimalist, gallery-like atelier in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood. The shop, outfitted with crisp, white walls and bleached oak floors, features a well-edited compilation of furnishings, artwork, ceramic vessels, lighting, and glassware. “I was inspired to create a space where designers and lovers of great design could find bespoke pieces from local as well as international artists and craftsmen,” says Brier. “I believe negative space is important in experiencing each and every object, so we keep the gallery light-filled and airy. We strive to create an experience that feels friendly and personalized. We also enjoy sharing the stories of how our furniture, art, and accessories originated and were made. We hope that every customer that we meet finds meaning and longevity in the pieces they acquire from us.”
Most recently, Brier opened a second location in Dallas, featuring terrazzo floors, a fireplace, and custom steel black doors. “The metal doors delineate spaces while offering a bold contrast to the warm, natural palate of the surrounding space,” adds Brier. “The locations are the perfect embodiment of my essential belief that at its core, design is really a conversation—a continuous, ever-evolving exploration of the limitless ways in which we interact with the world around us.”

The lamp, including the lamp shade, being carved from solid marble is so striking and elegant. We also have some stunning new metal and stone lighting and home accessories by Studio Henry Wilson. Their bold, yet simple shapes and silhouettes, paired with the natural beauty of metal and stone make for a perfect mix of design, functionality, and beauty.”

“While César is based in Biarritz, France, his work beautifully aligns with Anyon’s California coastal roots,” says Brier. “‘September’ is one of my favorite images. The saturation of color, the scale, the contrast—it’s exceptional.”
Handcrafted ceramics by Montana artist Giselle Hicks
“With a limited color palette, she explores both geometric and organic shapes,” adds Brier. “Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Belger Arts Center in Kansas City, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Wisconsin, and the Bellevue Art Museum in Washington.”
Kate Marker Home
Creative Genius: Kate Marker
Location: Barrington, Illinois
Opened by design maven Kate Marker in 2018, Kate Marker Home was conceived years after launching her interior design firm, Kate Marker Interiors. “We wanted to create a physical space where people could experience the curated aesthetic I’ve developed through my design projects on a more customizable level,” says Marker. “The vision was to offer a unique selection of home goods that are both beautiful and functional, with a focus on quality craftsmanship and timeless design.” The shop features everything from sofas and decorative objects to rugs, barware, and pillows.
The store, lined with exposed brick walls, light wood floors, and high ceilings, offers a warm and inviting space to browse and seek inspiration. Customers can also benefit from IRL design insight from a team of stylists, if needed. “I want Kate Marker Home to be a place where people feel inspired and empowered to create their dream homes,” says Marker. “I strive to offer a personalized and welcoming experience, with knowledgeable staff who can help customers find the perfect pieces for their space. We believe that a well-designed home can have a profound impact on our overall well-being, and we’re passionate about helping people achieve their design goals.
