Starting next month, there’s will be another getaway to place on the must-visit list: The Chatwal Lodge. Located 95 miles north of Manhattan within the famed Chaplin Estate in Bethel, New York, the soon-to-open Chatwal Lodge will feature 11 cabin-like guestrooms and suites with reclaimed wood-clad walls; hand-carved headboards; wrought iron chandeliers; fireplaces; deep-soaking tubs; 24-hour valets; and private patios with sweeping views of the Toronto Reservoir Lake. “For decades, The Catskills and surrounding pastoral regions have inspired those seeking unique year-round escapes to celebrate a range of experiences from farm-to-table culinary adventures and sporting activities to health/wellness and optimal relaxation,” says Sant Singh Chatwal, Chairman of Dream Hotel Group. “The Chatwal Lodge’s rustic-refined aesthetic was crafted in the spirit of providing these immersive experiences within a boutique luxury sensibility.”
Designed by award-winning builder and architect Steve Dubrovsky of Chapin Construction, the 100-acre woodsy refuge takes inspiration from the Northwest and 19th-century Adirondack influences. Experiences here range from stargazing and fishing to horseback riding, and wellness options spanning yoga and meditation sessions. The resort is also outfitted with a 4,000-square-foot activity center housing a movie screening room; billiards; shuffleboard; board games; duckpin bowling; and cozy reading zones.
The all-inclusive property features three meals a day overseen by Chef Jesse Kloskey (think local veggies plucked from on-site gardens and nearby sustainable farms), and daily afternoon tea service with freshly baked scones and savory confections. Relax by the fire with a good book, or head out for a day of adventure. Just be sure to grab a gourmet picnic lunch for the road. Officially opens April 29th.
