Firebrand Hotel: a Sophisticated Mountain Resort

During our trip to Whitefish, Montana and Glacier National Park, we knew we wanted to say somewhere in close proximity to both the Whitefish ski area and Glacier National Park. The Firebrand Hotel in downtown Whitefish seemed like the obvious choice for us, as it was one street over from the main drag and all of the best restaurants, shops, and bars.

We loved the Firebrand. The service, value and friendliness of the staff were exceptional, and the amenities (breakfast, full bar, rooftop patio, hot tub, gym and world-class spa) made the stay truly memorable.

The hotel lounge was so well decorated and extremely cozy. We were happy to see they still had their Christmas decorations up because it added so much to the atmosphere of the place, especially during the peaceful snowfall we got while we were there. You can see from the image below that there are little vintage decor pieces scattered around the hotel that pays tribute to the rugged Montana landscape.

The lounge and bar area is quite spacious, and they have an excellent collection of food and drinks (loved their craft beers) as well as their own Firebrand branded coffee.

We recommend their charcuterie boards (so delicious) and the spiked nog cocktail, the perfect treat to enjoy indoors during a cold winter evening.

The rooms at the Firebrand were spacious, well-lit and comfortable. Oh, and they even came with a dog bed! We thought that was an extremely thoughtful touch and we could tell our dog definitely enjoyed it.

Note: The hotel is pet-friendly, however, pets are only allowed on the first floor.

The rooms were also well equipped with a mini-bar (and mini-fridge) and had ample closet space. I’d also like to point out that they had luxury amenities like robes, slippers, upgraded toiletries and a deluxe shower. Always a major plus, especially after a long day of travel.

We loved coming at the peak of winter. The holiday decor was beautifully and tastefully done and combined with the luxury sophistication of the interior, it made for a very warm and welcoming stay.

The rooftop was a treat! A spacious area perfect for larger gatherings complete with a fire pit and a very spacious hot tub. What a feeling it was to be able to enjoy the warmth of the hot tub while the colors of the sky danced around as the sunset on us. The view of Whitefish came to life as the Christmas lights began glowing at blue hour.

We highly recommend the Firebrand for its friendly staff and great accommodation. After a long day of hiking, skiing and exploring, it’s the perfect place to come back. Take your significant other or the family and go enjoy yourselves that well-deserved retreat.
