Design trends are always changing and what’s trendy one year can easily go out of trend the next. Here are a handful of trends that we’re saying goodbye to mid-year.
Minimalism
Pandemic and quarantine life made us realize that home is where the heart is. Modern interiors must fulfill a lot of our emotional needs because we spend so much more time there now. Without a doubt they need function, but beauty, comfort and sentimentalism are also important. Minimalist trends with monochromatic color schemes and minimal furniture are on the way out, making way for maximalist ways.
Gray Interiors
In the last decade, gray slid into beige’s place to take over the design world. Everything from gray walls to gray cabinets, it was gray all the way. Neutral gray still holds its own, but all gray interiors are definitely getting kicked to the curb. Greens, blues and black are on trend, and bright accents like yellow, orange and purple are on point right now.
Too Much Boho
Natural elements in the home are definitely here to stay but rooms over saturated with macramé wall hangings, rattan furniture and fringed blankets are starting to feel a little overdone. Too much boho is out, but a few boho pieces blended with more modern elements are in.
Industrial
The industrial trend has been quietly fading into the background for the last couple of years, but its appeal is definitely waning as we see consumers gravitating to more color, pattern and natural textures. You can still include an industrial element here and there, but don’t make it the center of your design scheme.
