Jackrabbit Wash Joshua Tree Retreat

This past week, the Geminid Meteor Shower was schedule to make a fly by past Earth after a 4-year hiatus. We needed to escape the light pollution of Los Angeles to enjoy the show, so we decided to go to one of our favorite desert towns just a few hours from Los Angeles: Joshua Tree.

We’ve been eyeing the Jackrabbit Wash on AirBNB for quite some time, marveling at the high desert home designed and hand-built by Arron D’Innocenzo. So we decided to finally book a night to enjoy the property. By the way, when I mention the house was hand built by one person, that’s not an exaggeration. Mr. D’Innocenzo built the entire thing himself over the course of 8 years. No contractors, subcontractors or helpers involved.

Entering the home, the first thing that catches your eye is the stylish, sophisticated interior and the view of the surrounding desert and mountains. While just a short trip from downtown Joshua Tree, the area feels remote, offering a feeling of exclusivity. The 1600 sq ft interior of the home is comprised of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining and living area. The exterior features a deck, patio, swimming pool, hot tub, and an oversized 2 car garage.

Unique decor pieces, light fixtures and stylish furniture choices are a delight for any interior design enthusiast. The home features high attention to detail, and the spaciousness of the living area allows for a comfortable stay for several guests.

The meteor shower was a beautiful show, and we had a relaxing front row seat thanks to the hot tub. But sunrise that followed the morning after stole the show. It was a treat to be able to enjoy it from Jackrabbit Wash’ large patio.

Book your stay at Jackrabbit Wash and go enjoy some time off in the desert. You won’t regret it.
