If there’s two things we enjoy it’s partaking in a nice cocktail and regular self-case sessions. (Wait, are those the same thing?) So naturally we wanted to call out some of the gifts we received this past holiday that checked both of those boxes. Bar-building basics like cocktail books, bitters and non-alcoholic spirits were much appreciated, as were a few things for the bathroom.
Bitters and Shrubs
These tantalizing additions give your drinks a little boost of flavor and flair. Experiment with cocktails or mocktails with these tantalizing herbal and fruity blends from Strongwater and Made In Kansas City.
Clever Cocktail Cookbook
A handy cocktail-making book is a must-have on any bar. Tequila Mockingbird: Cocktails with a Literary Twist has recipes and commentary on history’s most beloved novels. A must-have for your bookish friends.
Smart and Sober
In what can sometimes be a season of excess, we appreciate people who gifted thoughtfully for those who abstain from the drink. When it comes to alcohol-free drinks, the sky’s the limit these alluring blends from Seedlip Drinks.
Bolster Your Bath Experience
Bath boards are a new favorite to elevate the bath time experience. They come in a wide range of styles—some wooden, others metal or a combination of both—and create a place to light a candle, set down a glass of wine or herbal tea, and even prop up a book for your reading enjoyment. Best of all, bath boards add a nice design element to the bathtub area when not in use and are a reminder to engage in self-care practices. We got this one from Wayfairand gifted this one from Etsy!
Bespoke Bath Products
With more people prioritizing self-care, bespoke bath products like salts and scrubs were big this year, not to mention essential for the cold, dry winter season. We were gifted these soaking salts and candles from Wooly Wax in Denver, as well as some “shower steamers” from Uncommon Goods. Needless to say we’ll be purchasing more of these in 2022.
