Elevate Your Musical Aesthetic

Music is a universal language that unites people, creates a mood and creates a space for unlimited personal expression. It’s such an essential part of home, but oftentimes its aesthetic gets overlooked. Here are a few ways to make enjoying music at home more stylish and functional.

Media Consoles

Stereo systems used to be the way to play music at home and typically were a complicated set of components that frustrated homeowners with mystery wires and connecting inputs and outputs. Those days are over. Today’s technology makes it possible to enjoy music with very little effort. But you still need a place to store records, (dare we say old CDs) and wireless speakers. That’s where a beautiful wood console table comes onto the scene.  A wood console with shelves allows you to store your vinyl, place your wireless speakers on top, and even stash an old plug-in CD player (for when your WiFi is down). There are even custom console options with built-in speakers that your phone can connect to. Don’t forget to top your console with a pretty potted succulent!

Smooth Speakers

Wireless speakers have made the art of listening to music such a cinch. Finding speakers that sound and look good is as easy as turning on one-click shopping. There are speakers for those who crave minimalism and sculpture as well as those who want to recreate the look of a vintage radio or a boombox. And those that have colorful neon lights and can even float in water (think bath or pool time). Permanent or portable, there are seamless options for everyone.

Transcendental Turntables

Search turntables and record players on Google and the options will blow your mind. From record players that are minimal and modern to those that look like an old Victrola and play AM/FM radio. Be sure and distinguish your needs first. Record players generally have built in speakers; while turntables require you to source external speakers. Some units even have a usb output so you can digitize your vinyl collection. You’ll find beauties from original stereo makers you might recognize like Marantz and Crosley as well as other household names like Sony and Pioneer. Look for a “best of” list before you purchase so you know how features are rated.
