Curves are everywhere in home design and this new geometry is changing the way we look at our very square homes. There are a number of clever ways to get curvy in your home. Check out these ideas.
1. Take the Leap
Curve appeal is hard to describe unless you’ve seen it. Think 70’s Euro meets Three’s Company. Modern architecture and furniture is often boxy and square and so changing these up might feel like a leap. But it doesn’t have to be. Curves had a heyday in the 70s and 80s and the more you keep your eye out for the ways to add curves, the more you’ll fall in love with this trend.
2. Dive In
Pools, pool decks and outdoor spaces are a great canvas for curves. Create curves with outdoor furniture placed in a semicircle around a fire pit, or if you’re in the market for a new hot tub, go old school with a cedar tub and build it into your deck for easy access. Sexy, curvy stand alone outdoor sauna units are beautiful additions to outdoor spaces and are good for the body too.
3. Start Small
If you’re looking to mod-up your space and give it a fresh curvy vibe, but not totally commit to say—a whole curved sectional, try a scalloped chair and a round coffee table to tie things together. Paint a half circle on a wall in a stairway or purchase a bookcase with curved shelves and top them with circular vases. Once you start thinking of all the ways you can add curve appeal, it will be hard to stop there.
