3 Clever Ideas for Setting a Romantic Valentine’S Day Dinner Table

Love Letters

A table set for two with handwritten love notes is sure to set the romantic feel. Line your table with a piece of kraft paper and scribe a beautiful love letter or poem or multiples of them. Then layer the table with whatever serving pieces that feel romantic. Another take on the love letter theme is to craft your own small notes out of cardstock or construction paper, and layer them on the table as decor. Use pink and red paper or go dramatic with black paper and a white chalk pen. Pen a love inspired quote on each card or write your own roses are red, violets are blue rhyme.

Cushy and Cozy

Instead of setting a traditional dining table for Valentine’s, use a low table and dine on the floor with pillows or floor cushions for seats. Set your coffee table or other low table with two place settings, some candles and a cake stand topped with beautiful chocolates. Don’t forget the wine! Grab some blankets and snuggle up and enjoy each other’s company.

Pink Monochrome

Pink screams Valentine’s Day and it’s easy to decorate your table with only one color! Use pink plates, napkins and pink flowers. Write your menu on pink paper and serve a pink drink (rosé or a cocktail made with pomegranate juice and club soda). Make a menu of pink foods (think beet hummus, beet pesto and pink macaroons). If you don’t have a romantic valentine, set your table for friends or family and celebrate love without the fuss.
